Summer...

Summer is ending and I am not ready for Little Man to head back to school. I feel like our summer has gone by in a flash. But, signs are all around us that school is just around the corner. There is the back to school sales, teacher assignment letters, fall sports practices starting, etc. Everywhere you look there is a sign that summer is ending. So, how do you all handle this time of year?

On another note, we had our camp. This year it was ART camp. It was a great day for it and I am pretty sure the kids had fun. Might have to post some photos for you all to see in the future.

Speaking of photos Little Man is getting some printed that he has taken to enter in a contest. Excited for him. I love his eye. It's got something magical to it, of course it could be that I am his Mom and just a wee bit proud of him.

Next week, I will be back to posting on a more regular basis. But, don't expect anything too regular until September. (Keeping it real)

Have a great day everyone!

Summer Nights and photos...

I LOVE summer nights for photos. Why? The light is so pretty, so magical. Get that hour before sunset and get your camera out and go capture your kids.
Of course, if you have a blanket, a bowl, a field and a newborn. You can have this...

If you have a little one you can have this...

But, remember they don't always have to look at you!

Now, go and have fun! :)

Summer Activity Jars

We have our Summer List ready to go, I swear (not really, but ya know the saying I swear), Little Man keeps adding to our list. It's OK though, I LOVE having him home and being able to do cool things with him. Whatever is cool in the eyes of a Little Man that is. :)
These jars are such a cute idea! I just had to share with you.
For the Full Details and FREE printables head on over to The Crafting Chicks.
They also have a super cute grab bag idea for summer as well. How fun!

Questions for my readers and this requires you all to leave comments too! Please do, a girl doesn't like talking to herself ya know. :)
1. What are your summer plans and how do you come up with them?
2. What are some of your favorite blogs. I am going to try to get my list ready and on the sidebar over the next few weeks. But, wondering what blogs I should be checking out. Point me in the right direction folks!
Happy Summer Day to all of you!!!

Fun Frugal Things to Do this Summer with your Kids...

The Reading Type:Many libraries offer special reading programs over the summer and some even have prizes. Check with your local library to see what is happening this summer! Start your own book club even.

The Sports Type:
Hitting a park with your kids is something that they can enjoy at almost any age. For olders, bring along balls and play catch or a game of one on one. Challenge them to a race even. Just think, it's not only fun for your kids, but it can help you stay in shape too.

The Artist Type:
You can go to discount stores and pick up art supplies and give them an art basket at the beginning of the summer. Filled with materials that they can create things all summer long. Better yet, have them gather supplied from nature to create their own special recycled art.

Explore:
Explore the area you live in like a tourist. Perhaps you have never been to a certain place, go and see what it is all about. Many things are just around the corner from you that you might not have been to or seen. Try a new pizza place and take your child on a date there.

Let the kids in on the planning:
That's something that I find really important is to let them in on the plans. Allow them to make a list of the Top 20 things they want to do this summer. Use this list as your guide to the summertime fun.

These are just a few things to get you started. What plans do you have? What are you doing? What are your ideas, please share!
